| Up the M6 for Maverik | ||||||||||||||
Jamie Carpenter and Josh Bunter had a change of scenery last weekend travelling the short distance to Tony-Moto at Winchester for the 9th round of the Portsmouth Club’s summer series. Josh proved to be Mr. consistent at the popular Hampshire venue with three 2nd spots and inevitably, a 2nd overall for the meeting. Fighting Maverik’s corner in the 65 class Jamie worked hard for a 7th 4th and a 6th place taking a very credible 4th overall. Lewis Trickett and Jake Shipton had a slightly earlier start to their weekend making their way up the M6 to the picturesque town of Haverigg in Cumbria for the latest round of the B.Y.M.X. Championship. Despite a spectacular crash in his second race after already recording a 4th, from his first outing Lewis picked himself up and tore into the opposition taking a 1st and 2nd from his final two rides giving him a 4th overall. Jake had a tough weekend, eating too much dirt for his liking, being involved in two major first bend crashes which saw him remounting in last place on both occasions. He proudly fought back through the pack to take 10th and 11th respectively, combined with a 13th and a final 11th place spot he took 13th overall on the day and is currently 9th in the championship. |
